STOICA & ASOCIAȚII awards the students who participated in the civil law mock trial competition "Professor Constantin Stătescu"

What remedies does the Civil Code offer to companies whose activity was affected by the war in Ukraine? Is contingency an effective means of adapting contracts in this context? These are just two of the issues that were debated in the 5th edition of the Civil Law Mock Trial Competition "Professor Constantin Stătescu", an event organised by STOICA & ASOCIAȚII, the Association of Law Students and the Center for Natural Law Studies and Normative Analysis.

More than 50 students from the Faculty of Law of the University of Bucharest participated in the written stage of the competition, and the teams that prepared the best 8 memoranda qualified for the pleadings stage. The final took place on May 14, in front of a jury composed of Valeriu Stoica – Founding Partner -, Cătălina Dicu - Senior Partner - Daniel Aragea - Partner,  STOICA & ASOCIAȚII – and lect. univ. dr. Ioana-Laura Toma-Dăuceanu.

The following student teams were awarded:

1st place – the team formed by Ștefan Iustin Manea and Alexandru Nicolae Călin. The jury decided that the prize for the best pleading should be awarded to Ștefan Iustin Manea.

2nd place – the team formed by Maria-Alexandra Ionescu and Damian Achim.

3rd place – the teams formed by Iulia Enuc and Cristiana Romanovschi, respectively Daniel Dijmărescu and Maria - Teodora Barbarino.

The teams formed by: Oana Alexandra Niță and Mara-Ilinca Savinescu received mentions for the qualification in the pleadings stage; Yasmina-Alexandra Buşe and Ariana-Cristina Suliman; Diana-Hannelore Dragan and Ana-Maria Aftene; Diana-Maria Gogoasa and Vlad Bărbulescu.

Special distinctions for the pleadings in the elimination stages were awarded to students Diana-Hannelore Drăgan, Daniel Dijmărescu and Maria-Teodoara Barbarino.

For the work done and the outstanding results, STOICA & ASOCIAȚII awarded the qualified students in the pleading stage cash prizes and internships.

The STOICA & ASOCIAȚII team would like to thank the students from the Law Students Association for the excellent collaboration in organizing the competition and the fellow lawyers who were involved in this project (Constantin Pintilie, Yolanda Beșleagă, Irina Titorian, Andreea Gurică, Paula Maftei, Gabriela Bodnărescu, Carmen Mureșan, Mihai Trandafir and Daniel Aragea).

Having become a tradition, the "Professor Constantin Stătescu" civil law mock trial competition brings together students and legal professionals, with the aim of supporting the training of future lawyers in a student competition based on the principles of fairness, cooperation and excellence. Part of the institutional philosophy of STOICA & ASOCIAȚII, the competition has become a landmark for students of the Faculty of Law of the University of Bucharest.
