How it was at the National civil law conference – Valeriu Stoica
The national civil law conference Valeriu Stoica, with the theme "Notion of interest in the Civil Code: convergences and divergences", took place on September 28, during about ten hours, at the Faculty of Law of the University of Bucharest, in the hall "Constantin Stoicescu".
Participation was free, within the limits of the seats in the hall, which proved to be insufficient to satisfy the high demand of the participants. During the day, there was a record turnover of approximately 250 people attending the event, and the number of those connected online exceeded double that number.
In the opening of the conference, Prof. univ. emeritus Valeriu StoicaPhD - Founding Partner, STOICA & ASOCIAȚII - said: "As we have been accustomed to professional assistance in recent years, this conference aimed to debate topics that are not confined to a single institution of civil law, but transversal themes, which have reverberations in most subjects of the Civil Code. The reason we adopted this thematic strategy is simple. As you know, many of the professors from the most important law faculties in the country have undertaken a very ambitious project – the Civil Law Treaty, which we want to become a tangible reality. Until then, however, we believe that it is good that these topics of comprehensive interest be debated, because, on the one hand, its authors should have a common vision on the cardinal notions found in the Civil Code and, on the other part, because any Civil Code reveals its secrets after several decades of practical application and doctrinal comments.
