STOICA & ASOCIAȚII authors the Romania chapter in Global Arbitration Review’s Challenging and Enforcing Arbitration Awards – 2026

A team of lawyers at STOICA & ASOCIAȚII – Andreea Stoica(Managing Partner), Yolanda Beșleagă (Managing Associate) and Andreea Gurică(Senior Associate) – contributed the Romania chapter to the 2026 edition of GAR Know-how: Challenging and Enforcing Arbitration Awards.

Challenging and Enforcing Arbitration Awards is a comprehensive guide providing practical guidance on the key issues arising in connection with the challenge and enforcement of arbitral awards. Part I offers a thematic overview of the relevant legal framework, while Part II provides jurisdiction-specific answers to the practical questions practitioners need to consider when assessing whether, and how, to challenge or enforce an arbitral award in a particular jurisdiction.

The questionnaire for the 2026 edition comprises 73 questions, covering challenges to arbitral awards, including the grounds and procedural rules governing setting-aside proceedings, as well as the recognition and enforcement of awards, asset-tracing and enforcement measures. The guide also addresses the specific issues arising in connection with the recognition and enforcement of arbitral awards against foreign states.

Bringing together insights from multiple jurisdictions, the guide enables practitioners and businesses to gain a comprehensive understanding of the legal frameworks in which international arbitral awards may be challenged, recognized and enforced.
