On xenotransplantation

Xenotransplantation is any procedure involving the transplantation, implantation, or infusion into a human recipient of either living cells, tissues, or organs from a nonhuman animal source, or of human body fluids, cells, tissues, or organs that have had ex vivo contact with living non-human animal cells, tissues or organs.

In a recent article, our colleague, Veronica Dobozi - Partner -, briefly analyzes the ethical and legal issues related to the definition of the nature (human or not) of the transplant recipient, issues that could also arise in this case, as will advance research on the role of information transfer (genetic and not only) of cells in transplanted organs, tissues or cells.
