Launch of the registration for "Constantin Stătescu" civil law moot court competition

⚖ Do you want to test your legal skills in a mock trial?

The "Constantin Stătescu" civil law moot court competition, organised by the Association of Law Students (ASD), STOICA & ASOCIAȚII law firm and the Centre for Natural Law Studies and Normative Analysis, gives you the opportunity to work on a challenging case that will put your legal thinking and argumentation skills to the test.

During the competition, you will receive feedback from legal professionals who will analyse your strategy and the way you present your case. What's more, you'll be part of a long-established competition that's popular with students with a passion for litigation. Form your team, prepare your arguments and enter the competition!

Structure of the competition:

Stage I - Registration

Team registration will run from 13 to 23 March 2025.

Stage II - Written stage

28 March - training session.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn essential information about drafting pleadings and litigation strategy directly from legal professionals from STOICA & ASOCIAȚII.

7 April, 23:59 - deadline for the submission of the first pleading (the statement of claim). Teams will have to draft and send the first pleading according to the requirements of the case received.

18 April - sending a fictitious request for a summons

Qualified teams will receive a second case, which will require further analysis and the drafting of a second memorandum (the 'welcome').

27 April, 23:59 - deadline for the submission of the second submission.

This will be the last written stage and the evaluation will decide which teams go through to the oral stage.

Stage III - Oral stage

It consists of three rounds of pleading - quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals - from 17-18 May.

Pleadings will take place in a court of law, giving participants an authentic litigation experience.
