Dragoș Bogdan and Andreea Micu – article on the personal data in healthcare

In the article „ECHR. Personal data. Health. Disclosure by psychiatrist to journalists and family. The case of Mockute v. Lithuania” published on the legal news platform Juridice.ro, the authors, Dragoş Bogdan – Senior Partner and Andreea Micu – Partner, STOICA & Asociaţii, pointed out that the protection of personal data is an old subject in the jurisprudence of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), which laid the foundations of the current European approach in the field from 1970 to 1980.
The first judgment that is known about personal data was issued in the year 1978 (Klass and Others v. Germany, various means of supervision); (Leone v. Sweden in 1987), access to personal data (Gaskin v. the United Kingdom in 1989), or data processing related to the interception of telephone conversations (Malone v. the United Kingdom in 1984) health (Chave nee Jullien v. France, 1991).
