August edition of Lawyer Mothly, a British magazine addressing to investors and business leaders when selecting the highest quality legal advice internationally, published an article about Romania. The article offers a briefing of the Romanian tax and investment legislation. In this respect, the editor asked opinions from well-reputed Romanian lawyers. STOICA & Asociatii, by Ms Cristiana Irinel Stoica, Founding Partner, gave an interview explaining how she and her team combat the problem of confusing Romanian legislation.

The July number of the legal revue „Curierul Judiciar” published the article „New Regulations on Arbitration” signed by Ms Cristiana Irinel Stoica, Founding Partner at STOICA & Asociatii. The article discusses in detail the structure of the arbitral regulations as reflected in the new Code of Civil Procedure. We can speak of a real restructuring both formal and in substance of the institution of arbitration. Ms Stoica analyzes in the article the novelty brought by the new Code of Civil Procedure in relation with arbitration. There are presented in details regulations related to the definitions of arbitration and institutional arbitration, the representation of parties in the arbitration procedure, arbitral convention, arbitral court, arbitral procedure, enforcement of the arbitral decision.

Chambers Europe offered to publicity its annual top ten domains of practice in Romania.

For each domain, the law firms are classified in categories (band) from 1 to 5, 1 being the highest category. In 2010 edition, STOICA & Asociatii is ranked under category 1 for Intellectual Property and Dispute Resolution, and under category 4 for Competition/Antitrust.

Getting the Deal Through – Private Equity 2010 was launched at the Annual Private Investment Funds Conference in London on 7th-9th March 2010, a volume in the series of annual reports providing comparative international analysis in the legislative business law.

In the format adopted throughout the series, the same key questions are answered by leading practitioners in 33 jurisdictions. The report is divided into two sections:the first deals with fund formation in 17 jurisdictions and the second deals with transactions in 29 jurisdictions.

The 2010 edition of Legal 500, a well reputed London publication, conducted the yearly research of the eight areas of practice and issued rankings of law firms within all major jurisdictions in the world, including Romania based on the combined opinions of many lawyers interviewed in each jurisdiction, commentary from clients and analysis of deals. STOICA & Asociatii was ranked as a “tier 1” law firm in the field of „Dispute Resolution” as being „a top-level player in litigation and dispute resolution”.

Ziarul Financiar presents, for the second consecutive year, the most important 100 law firms registered with the Bucharest Bar.

2010 edition of the Directory brings information about the major players of the law market and the key transactions of 2009, pointing out the expertise gained over the years by lawyers who are already excellent practitioners.

STOICA & Asociatii brought its contribution to the International Labour Law – quick reference guide published by World Link for Law. Well-reputed lawyers from over 30 countries contributed to this useful general guide of labour law issues in various jurisdictions which covers legal aspects related to employment contract, dismissal procedure, compensations in case of dismissal, contribution to the social security system, maternity rights.

STOICA & Asociatii was included in the 12th edition of the Romanian Financial Directory 2009-2010 published by Finmedia. In this edition, STOICA & Asociatii offers a brief history, main services and areas of practice, as well as a presentation of the founding partners and partners of STOICA & Asociatii.

12 years ago, Romanian Financial Directory published by Finmedia presented for the first time detailed and updated information about the major players on the Romanian financial and banking markets.

Radu Rizoiu, Senior Partner at STOICA & Asociatii published in The Romanian Private Law Magazine no. 6/2009 the article “Asset securitization or The utopia of the perfect security”.

Asset securitization is a complex financing mechanism available to companies. It requires the company to hold certain receivables that could be used as collateral for issuing securities to be listed on the stock exchange.

The February number of the legal revue “Curierul Judiciar” was published. The “Newsletter" rubric of this number, drafted by the STOICA & Asociaţii lawyers, presents briefly the new changes to the Fiscal Code and the implementation of the European directives in terms of indirect taxes.

Also the February number of the legal revue “Curierul Judiciar” contains an article related to the Governmental Ordinance no. 109/2009 which briefly presents the main changes brought to the Fiscal Code in relation with the income and return tax.
