He is the founder of the Romanian School of Magistrates since 1991 and in this position he has developed significant professional contacts with a large number of international institutions or foreign universities all over the world.
Professor Valeriu Stoica was the Romanian Minister of Justice and Vice Prime-Minister between 1996 and 2000, during the first democratic post-communist governance in Romania . In this capacity, he has consistently contributed to the promotion of important normative acts for the Romanian business environment (i.e. the security interests in personal property law, property restitution). He was also member of the Romanian Parliament from 1997 until 2003.
He worked with various international organizations as member of working committees, such as Council of Europe, or the American Bar Association. He was also acting as arbitrator with the International Court of Arbitration within the Chamber of Commerce in Bucharest.
